Billionaire Timothy Mellon Boosts Trump Campaign with $50 Million

Conservative billionaire Timothy Mellon has donated $50 million to the Super-PAC "MAGA Inc," supporting Donald Trump's presidential campaign. The donation, made a day after Trump was convicted on 34 charges of falsifying business records in a New York hush-money trial, is among the largest single contributions to a political campaign in American history. This influx of funds has significantly bolstered the pro-Trump campaign's financial standing, allowing it to outspend the campaign of incumbent President Joe Biden.

In addition to his support for Trump, Mellon has been a major donor to independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., contributing at least $20 million to the pro-Kennedy Super-PAC American Values. Despite Mellon's substantial contributions, the pro-Kennedy Super-PAC reported only around $280,000 in donations last month, with no recent contributions from Mellon. Meanwhile, other significant donations in the political arena include nearly $20 million from billionaire Mike Bloomberg to pro-Biden groups, including $19 million to Future Forward or FF PAC.
