Biden Super PAC Readies $250M Battleground Ad Campaign

In a strategic effort to bolster President Joe Biden's 2024 reelection campaign, the super PAC Future Forward has announced an unprecedented $250 million advertising investment. This sum, the largest single political ad buy by an outside group in campaign history, will be allocated between television and digital platforms, with $140 million for TV and $110 million for digital and streaming services.

The advertising campaign will span ten weeks, beginning after the Democratic National Convention in August and continuing until Election Day. It will focus on engaging voters in seven crucial swing states: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. The ads are designed to reach a diverse audience, including younger voters and specific demographics such as Hispanic and Black communities, in key metropolitan areas like Atlanta, Phoenix, Madison, Reno, and Flint.

This move by Future Forward comes at a time when Biden is contending with low approval ratings and trails in some hypothetical matchups against potential GOP candidates, including former President Donald Trump. With the Republican field narrowing after Florida Governor Ron DeSantis's exit, the GOP nomination appears to be a contest primarily between Trump and former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley. Meanwhile, key issues such as abortion, climate change, and the economy are shaping the political landscape for the upcoming election.
