Ben Gurion Airport Reopens After Lebanon Strikes

Israel's Civil Aviation Authority has resumed operations at Ben Gurion Airport, the country's main international gateway, following a brief suspension due to military action against Hezbollah. The airport reopened at 7:00 a.m. local time (0400 GMT) on Sunday. Aircraft that had been diverted to alternative airports, including Ramon Airport, will now return to Ben Gurion.

The suspension of flights was implemented after Israeli military strikes targeted Hezbollah positions in Lebanon. In response to the escalation, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant declared a "special situation" across the country, extending measures previously confined to certain northern and southern areas. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) continue to conduct strikes against Hezbollah targets deemed an imminent threat, coordinating efforts with the Home Front and Northern commands, as well as the Air Force.
