BBC Announces 'Motherland' Spin-off 'Amandaland'

The BBC has announced a spin-off of its BAFTA award-winning series Motherland titled Amandaland. The new series will center around the character Amanda, portrayed by Lucy Punch, as she deals with the aftermath of her divorce and subsequent move to South Harlesden, nicknamed SoHa. Joining the cast is Joanna Lumley as Amanda's mother, Felicity, and Philippa Dunne reprising her role as Anne. The show will delve into Amanda's challenges in raising teenagers in a new environment while grappling with social dynamics and environmental issues.

The spin-off is penned by writers Holly Walsh, Helen Serafinowicz, and Barunka O’Shaughnessy and will be produced by Merman. It has been commissioned for BBC One and iPlayer by Tanya Qureshi, Head of Comedy at the BBC.
