Balderton Capital Secures $1.3 Billion to Boost European Tech Start-ups

Balderton Capital, a prominent European venture capital firm based in London, has announced the successful raising of $1.3 billion through two new funds: $615 million for its Early Stage Fund IX and $685 million for its Growth Fund II. This marks the first time the firm has simultaneously raised funds for both early-stage and growth-stage investments, reflecting strong investor demand. The funds will support European entrepreneurs from seed stage through to IPO.

Founded in 2000, Balderton has invested in over 275 technology companies across Europe. The firm's portfolio includes notable names such as Revolut, Dream Games, and GoCardless. Balderton also offers a range of services to its founders and portfolio companies, including executive coaching, legal and financial advice, and access to a community of over 700 European technology executives. The recent fundraising efforts have attracted a global mix of limited partners, including British Patient Capital, a subsidiary of the UK government-owned British Business Bank.
