Astronaut Conducts Photography Masterclass Amid Space Exploration Developments

NASA astronaut Matthew Dominick, commander of the SpaceX Crew-8 mission, has been sharing images from inside and outside of the International Space Station (ISS). Dominick's photos include views of the moon above Earth just before sunrise and experiments with different shutter speeds to create movement in images. He has also shared his camera settings and time-lapse images.

Rockwell International developed an unconventional design for a space shuttle in the 1970s, known as the Rockwell C-1057 or "breadbox." The design, which was aimed at creating a shorter spacecraft for cargo transport into orbit, remains a point of interest among aerospace enthusiasts. Although it remained a concept, the C-1057, revealed in 1972, was notable for its theoretical advantages and reusable design.

The Pioneer 10 and Pioneer 11 space missions have been associated with the Pioneer Anomaly, an unexpected deviation in the spacecrafts' accelerations observed in the 1970s and 1980s. This anomaly was characterized by a slight deceleration towards the Sun. In 1998, it was determined that anisotropic radiation pressure from the spacecraft's thermal radiation caused this effect. A study published in Physical Review Letters by Slava Turyshev and collaborators confirmed that accounting for thermal recoil force resolved the anomaly. The probes have since exited the solar system, losing contact likely due to power depletion and vast distances.

OurSpace World, Inc. is hosting its first fundraiser, featuring a dinner, silent auction, and live performances by soul singer Ayanna Gregory and KIMANI Anku from Gardening and Beats. The event aims to support the organization's mission to promote food sovereignty and community sustainability by aiding black farmers and training future land stewards. Proceeds will benefit youth educational programs and black farmers.

MIT has introduced a new course, MAS.S66/4.154/16.89, focused on designing human habitats for space. The course, conducted in collaboration with the departments of Architecture, Aeronautics and Astronautics, and the MIT Media Lab’s Space Exploration Initiatives group, attracted significant student interest. Teams developed projects such as a modular inflatable mobile science library and semi-permanent habitats for lunar exploration.

The National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) and the Space Exploration and Research Agency (SERA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate on human spaceflight missions. This partnership aims to make history in Africa by participating in human spaceflight and inspiring future scientists and engineers. The collaboration aligns with Nigeria's 25-year road map for
