Arrowhead Games Names Shams Jorjani as New CEO

Arrowhead Game Studios has appointed Shams Jorjani as its new CEO, replacing founder Johan Pilestedt, who will now serve as Chief Creative Officer and Chairman. This leadership change follows the successful launch of Helldivers 2, which has sold 12 million copies since its release on PS5 and PC. Jorjani, a veteran in the gaming industry with over a decade of experience at Paradox Interactive and a role as chairman of indie publisher Hooded Horse, is expected to focus on the business aspects of the company, providing structure and leadership.

Pilestedt, who co-founded Arrowhead Game Studios, believes this shift will allow him to dedicate more time to game development and creativity. Despite the change in leadership, the studio aims to maintain its focus on producing quality co-op games, addressing community feedback, and managing its development projects effectively. The recent success of Helldivers 2, despite some initial backlash over PSN updates, demonstrates the studio's responsiveness to fan criticism and its commitment to improving the gaming experience.
