Apple's Genmoji and Image Playground Coming in iOS 18.2

Apple's anticipated features for its iPhone, including AI-generated images and custom emoji, may be delayed until iOS 18.2, according to Mark Gurman. These features are now expected to arrive shortly after the release of Apple Intelligence, which is slated for October. The delay aims to allow for additional testing and development.

The Image Playground tool, which will include the ability to create custom emoji from prompts or photos, will be part of the delayed features. The iPhone 16 line will also introduce ChatGPT integration, message summarization, and an improved Siri. The comprehensive rollout of these new functionalities is now projected to occur in December with iOS 18.2.
