Apple Launches M2 iPad Air in 11-Inch and 13-Inch Options

Apple has expanded its iPad Air lineup with the introduction of a new sixth-generation model, now featuring an 11-inch display, an upgrade from the previous 10.9-inch screen, and a new 13-inch option. These models are equipped with the M2 chip, enhancing performance with an 8-core CPU and a 10-core GPU, which delivers a 25% increase in CPU performance and boasts a 16-core Neural Engine capable of 15.8 trillion operations per second. The larger 13-inch iPad Air provides about 30% more screen real estate compared to the 11-inch model.

The new iPad Airs support the Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil 2, and come with a redesigned front-facing landscape camera, Touch ID integrated into the power button, and enhanced audio with landscape stereo speakers that have double the bass in the 13-inch version. Storage options start at 128GB and can be configured up to 1TB for the 11-inch model. Both sizes are housed in a 100% recycled aluminum enclosure and are available in several color options.

The 11-inch model is priced at $599, while the 13-inch model starts at $799. Pre-orders are available now, with shipping expected to begin next week. This release comes at a time when Apple has seen a decline in iPad revenue and faces new regulatory requirements from the European Union's Digital Markets Act.
