Apple Boosts Trade-In Credit for iPhone 15 Purchases

Apple is set to increase the trade-in value for customers in the U.S. and Canada who are looking to upgrade to the latest iPhone 15 series, including the standard, Plus, and Pro models. Starting from May 20, customers will receive additional credit for their old iPhones when trading them in towards the purchase of any iPhone 15 or iPhone 15 Pro model. This limited-time offer is slated to conclude on June 3.

The promotion is exclusive to the iPhone 15 lineup, meaning customers trading in their old devices for an iPhone 14, iPhone 13, or iPhone SE will not benefit from the increased trade-in values. While the specific new values have not been disclosed, Apple currently offers up to $420 for an iPhone 14 Plus as part of their trade-in program. Trade-ins can be completed through Apple's website or at Apple Stores, with the credit being applicable towards the new purchase or added to an Apple gift card for future use.

This move appears to be a strategic effort by Apple to boost sales of the iPhone 15 series and may also be aimed at managing inventory ahead of the expected launch of the iPhone 16. The trade-in enhancement coincides with Apple's efforts to provide native PRESTO card support on iPhone and Apple Watch in Canada, which is set to become available in July.
