AI Al Michaels to Deliver Personalized Olympic Recaps on Peacock
NBCUniversal has announced that Peacock subscribers will be able to receive daily, personalized recaps of the 2024 Summer Olympics featuring the AI-generated voice of renowned sports broadcaster Al Michaels. The service, called "Your Daily Olympic Recap on Peacock," will utilize artificial intelligence and voice synthesis technology to deliver 10-minute highlights tailored to individual user preferences. Subscribers can select their favorite sports and highlight types, and the AI will create a personalized playlist using clips from NBC Sports' extensive coverage.
The recaps will be available on supported browsers and the Peacock app for mobile and tablet devices. NBCUniversal plans to produce the content from an estimated 5,000 hours of live coverage, encompassing up to 40 concurrent daily events. To ensure quality and accuracy, all AI-generated content will undergo editorial review before being distributed to users. The service will commence on July 27, coinciding with the opening of the Games.
