Accolade Wines to Acquire Pernod Ricard's Major Wine Assets

Accolade Wines has signed an agreement to purchase a significant portion of Pernod Ricard's wine assets in Australia, New Zealand, and Spain. The acquisition, which includes brands such as Jacob's Creek, Stoneleigh, and Campo Viejo, is pending regulatory approval. The move is part of Pernod Ricard's strategy to concentrate on its core spirits business.

Australian Wine Holdco Limited (AWL), a consortium of international investors and the owner of Accolade Wines, plans to integrate these new assets with its existing portfolio. The combined entity aims to create a more efficient and diversified global wine business. The merger will bring together a range of well-known wine brands, producing over 10 million cases annually across seven dedicated wineries.

The deal is expected to bolster the financial sustainability of Accolade Wines, which currently manages brands like Grant Burge, Hardy’s, and Petaluma. While the financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed, the acquisition is anticipated to close in the second half of next year, subject to regulatory approvals from bodies such as the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission.
