A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Teaser Reveals Ser Duncan in Action

HBO Max has released a teaser for "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms," a prequel series to "Game of Thrones," set to premiere in 2025. The series, adapted from George R.R. Martin's "Tales of Dunk and Egg" novellas, is set a century before the events of "Game of Thrones" and follows the adventures of Ser Duncan the Tall (played by Peter Claffey) and his squire, Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell). The narrative will cover events from Martin’s novella "The Hedge Knight," focusing on their journey through Westeros during the time when the Targaryen dynasty still ruled.

The series will feature a cast that includes Finn Bennett as Aerion Targaryen, Bertie Carvel, Tanzyn Crawford as Tanselle, Daniel Ings as Ser Lyonel Baratheon, and Sam Spruell as Maekar Targaryen. Owen Harris, known for his work on "Black Mirror," will direct three episodes of the first season, with additional episodes directed by Sarah Adina Smith, George R.R. Martin, and Ira Parker, who also serve as executive producers. HBO has planned a three-season run for the series, aiming to delve deeper into the backstory of the "Game of Thrones" universe.
