2026 OLED iPad Mini Expected
Apple is reportedly planning to launch a new iPad Mini with an OLED display, potentially arriving in 2026. This update comes nearly three years after the release of the iPad Mini 6 in 2021, which featured Apple's A15 chip. The transition to OLED displays represents a significant shift for Apple's iPad lineup, traditionally equipped with LCD screens. Samsung Display has begun developing OLED samples for the new iPad Mini, with mass production targeted for the second half of 2025.
In addition to the iPad Mini, Apple is also working on introducing OLED panels to the iPad Air. While both devices are expected to receive OLED upgrades, the 13-inch iPad Air's transition may be delayed until 2027. Samsung currently supplies Apple with OLED panels for the iPad Pro, which utilize a tandem design for enhanced brightness and power efficiency. The new OLED screens for the iPad Mini may increase the device's price due to higher production costs. The shift to OLED is anticipated to improve display quality, aligning with Apple's broader strategy to enhance its tablet offerings.
