Zomato Relaunches Intercity Legends, Halts 'Xtreme' Delivery

Zomato has relaunched its 'Intercity Legends' service, now simply called 'Legends', which allows users to order food from popular restaurants across different Indian cities. The service has introduced a minimum order value of Rs 5,000 to ensure profitability for each delivery. Orders placed before 7 p.m. will be delivered the next day. This iteration of the service moves away from the previous practice of delivering orders on the same day from pre-stocked items.

Simultaneously, Zomato has discontinued its hyperlocal goods delivery service, 'Xtreme', which was launched in October last year but failed to generate sufficient demand. The Xtreme app has been removed from the Google Play Store. Additionally, Zomato has received shareholder approval to establish a new employee stock option pool (ESOP) of 18.2 crore shares, with 75% of investors voting in favor. The company is also reportedly looking to expand its business beyond food and grocery delivery and is in talks to acquire Paytm’s ticketing business.
