Until Dawn Remake Launches October 4 for PS5 and PC
The remastered version of the narrative horror game "Until Dawn," developed by Ballistic Moon, is set for release on PlayStation 5 and PC on October 4, 2024. The game has been rebuilt from the ground up using Unreal Engine 5, offering significant upgrades in rendering, ray-tracing capabilities, visual effects, and animations. Key enhancements include updated character models, environments, interactable props, and improved death scenes featuring more realistic real-time fluids and a revamped injury mask system.
The remaster also introduces new features such as fixed and over-the-shoulder camera views, a reworked prologue for better narrative pacing, and additional collectibles including new Hunger totems with unique visions. An alternative to the "Don't Move" mechanic, named "Stay Calm," has been implemented to accommodate third-party peripherals lacking a gyroscope and to offer a different challenge for players. The updates aim to provide a more cinematic and intimate experience while maintaining the original game's narrative intact.
