Swiggy Unveils 5-Second UPI In-App Payments

Swiggy, an online food delivery platform in India, has introduced 'Swiggy UPI', a new system integrating the National Payments Corporation of India’s (NPCI) digital payments solution to streamline in-app payments. This new feature allows users to complete UPI transactions directly within the Swiggy app, reducing the payment process from five steps to just one.

Powered by Juspay's HyperUPI plugin, the system eliminates the need for redirection to third-party UPI apps. Users can complete a one-time setup process to link their bank accounts by selecting Swiggy UPI. For each transaction, customers only need to enter their UPI PIN, ensuring faster transactions. Additionally, the in-house plug-in will notify customers of any issues such as insufficient funds, incorrect credentials, or technical problems during the payment process.
