Australian supermodel Elle Macpherson has disclosed her breast cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment journey in her new book. Seven years ago, Macpherson was diagnosed with HER2-positive oestrogen-receptive intraductal carcinoma. Despite medical advice from multiple doctors to undergo aggressive treatments including chemotherapy, radiation, and hormone therapy, she opted for a holistic approach. This decision was supported by her youngest son and her former partner, Arpad 'Arki' Busson, although her eldest son had reservations.
Macpherson chose to follow an "intuitive, heart-led" treatment plan, involving a range of holistic practices. She spent eight months in Phoenix, Arizona, under the care of various specialists, including a naturopath, holistic dentist, osteopath, chiropractor, and therapists. She has now been in clinical remission for seven years and is an advocate for holistic health and well-being. Her experience has drawn mixed reactions from her family, but she remains committed to her approach and aims to support others facing similar health challenges.
