Sundance Film Festival Announces 6 Finalist Cities for 2027
The Sundance Institute has announced six finalist cities to host the Sundance Film Festival starting in 2027. The selected cities are Atlanta, Georgia; Boulder, Colorado; Cincinnati, Ohio; Louisville, Kentucky; Santa Fe, New Mexico; and Park City/Salt Lake City, Utah. This decision comes as the Institute evaluates the feasibility of relocating the festival, which has been held in Park City, Utah, for nearly four decades.
The selection process involved a detailed evaluation of each city's infrastructure, event capabilities, and ability to support the festival's growth and ethos. The committee plans to conduct site visits to each finalist city in the coming weeks. The current contract for Park City and Salt Lake City will cover the festivals in 2025 and 2026. A final decision on the new host city is expected by the end of this year or early 2025.
