Stellantis to Recall 1.2 Million Vehicles Over Rear Camera Software Glitch

Stellantis is recalling nearly 1.2 million vehicles in the U.S. and Canada due to a software glitch that can disable the rearview cameras. The affected models include 2022 and 2023 Jeep Compass, Grand Cherokee, Wagoneer, and Grand Wagoneer SUVs, as well as 2022 Ram ProMaster vans, Ram 3500 chassis cabs, and Ram 1500 and 2500 pickups.

An investigation revealed that the vehicles' radio software could inadvertently shut down the rearview cameras. Stellantis, formerly known as Fiat Chrysler, will address the issue through an online software update, some of which have already been deployed. There have been no reported injuries or crashes related to this issue, but the company is urging owners to follow the recall instructions.
