Smile 2's Chilling Trailer Reveals Curse Haunting Pop Star Naomi Scott

Paramount Pictures has unveiled the first teaser trailer for "Smile 2," the sequel to the 2022 horror hit "Smile." Directed by Parker Finn, the film stars Naomi Scott as global pop star Skye Riley, who becomes the new victim of a sinister smiling curse. The curse, known for feeding on trauma and leading to violent suicides, puts Riley in increasingly terrifying situations as she struggles to regain control of her life amidst the pressures of fame. The film is set to be released in theaters on October 18, just in time for Halloween.

Returning cast member Kyle Gallner reprises his role as Joel, Rose's ex-boyfriend from the first film, who meets a dark fate in the sequel. The trailer hints at Joel's grim ending, showing him being run over by a speeding vehicle. Other cast members include Rosemarie DeWitt, Lukas Gage, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Peter Jacobson, Raúl Castillo, Dylan Gelula, and Ray Nicholson. The original "Smile" film, based on the 2020 short film "Laura Hasn’t Slept," was a box office success, grossing approximately $217.4 million globally. "Smile 2" aims to expand on the horror and thematic elements that made its predecessor a hit.
