Pre-orders open for Microsoft's new Xbox Series X and S models

Microsoft has announced the upcoming release of three new Xbox consoles: the Xbox Series S in white, a digital-only Xbox Series X also in white, and a special edition Xbox Series X in black. The new consoles will be available for pre-order starting August 21 and are set to launch in the US on October 15, with other markets following on October 29. Prices for the new consoles are set at $449.99 for both the white digital-only and black versions, while the 2TB "Galaxy Black" special edition will retail for $599.99.

The new models will be available in most Xbox-supported regions, with exceptions including Argentina, Brazil, and India. The 2TB Galaxy Black Special Edition includes a matching Xbox Wireless controller and Velocity Green back case. The hardware performance of the new models remains consistent with previous versions, with the main changes being cosmetic and the removal of the disc drive in the digital-only edition. The new releases come just in time for the holiday season, providing gamers with additional options for their gaming setups.
