Pre-registration for the game is currently open on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store in select regions. The announcement was made during the 2024 Pokémon World Championships in Honolulu, Hawaii, and included a new trailer showcasing the game's mechanics.

Pokémon TCG Pocket will allow players to collect and play with digital versions of their favorite Pokémon cards. Players will receive two free booster packs daily, which will help them expand their collections. The game will feature over 226 cards in the Genetix Apex set, including special display modes such as Binder and Full Display. The app will also support global gameplay, allowing users to compete with friends and other players worldwide. The game will be free-to-play with optional in-game purchases, including a monthly premium pass priced at $9.99.
