NCT's Taeil Leaves Group Over Sexual Crime Allegations

South Korean singer Taeil has been removed from the K-pop group NCT following allegations of involvement in sexual crimes. SM Entertainment, the agency representing NCT, announced the decision via social media, confirming that Taeil is currently under police investigation. The agency stated that Taeil is fully cooperating with authorities and that he will no longer continue his activities with the group.

The removal comes as the latest in a series of controversies surrounding NCT members, including the departure of Lucas in May 2023 due to allegations of cheating and gaslighting. SM Entertainment expressed regret for the concern and distress caused by this incident. Taeil, who debuted with NCT in 2016 and had been on hiatus since August 2023 due to a motorcycle accident injury, has agreed to step down from the group amidst the ongoing investigation.
