Mugda Medical College Hospital to Become Self-Sufficient, Says Minister
Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister, Saber Hossain Chowdhury, announced that initiatives will be taken to make Mugda Medical College Hospital self-sufficient. The hospital aims to provide all types of medical services so that no patient will need to be referred elsewhere. This announcement was made during a management committee coordination meeting.
Chowdhury also stated that due to an increase in patient admissions, the hospital will be upgraded to a 1,000-bed facility. He addressed requests from attending doctors to establish thoracic surgery and neurosurgery departments and to appoint an oncologist. The minister instructed the hospital authorities to submit a development plan within a month and emphasized the importance of maintaining greenery and cleanliness on the premises.
