Jimmy Carter Aspires to Vote for Kamala Harris as He Nears 100

Former President Jimmy Carter, who will turn 100 on October 1, has expressed his desire to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming presidential election. Despite being in hospice care for over a year after being diagnosed with cancer that spread to his brain in 2015, Carter remains determined to participate in the electoral process. He voted in the Georgia primary in May and remains engaged in current political events.

Carter's grandson, Jason Carter, noted that the former president has been more alert and interested in politics recently. Early voting in Georgia begins on October 15, and absentee ballots can be sent out up to 29 days before the election. Georgia law allows ballots to be counted even if the voter passes away between early voting and Election Day. A concert celebrating Carter's 100th birthday will be held on September 17 at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre, with proceeds going to the Carter Center.
