India Sends First Batch of Fig Juice to Poland with APEDA's Help

The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) has facilitated the export of India's first ready-to-drink fig juice, made from GI-tagged Purandar Figs, to Poland. The milestone shipment, flagged off by APEDA Chairman Shri Abhishek Dev, departed on August 1, 2024, via Hamburg port in Germany. This event signifies a notable achievement in promoting India’s unique agro-products on a global scale.

The fig juice was initially introduced at the SIAL 2023 in Greater Noida, New Delhi, where it won an award, indicating its potential in the international market. Additionally, it was showcased at Macfrut 2024 in Rimini, Italy, further expanding its global reach. The success of this export highlights the potential of Indian agricultural products and underscores the importance of research and development in enhancing the value of these exports. The GI tag on the Purandar Figs provides legal protection, preventing unauthorized use and boosting the product's marketability abroad.
