Giuliani Faces Asset Seizure by Defamed Georgia Election Workers

Former Georgia election workers Ruby Freeman and Wandrea' "Shaye" Moss have filed a civil lawsuit against Rudolph Giuliani, seeking to enforce a lien against his Palm Beach, Florida condominium. The lawsuit alleges that Giuliani falsely claimed the condominium as his primary residence to take advantage of Florida's homestead protection law, which shields a person's primary residence from being used to satisfy court judgments.

This legal action follows a nearly $150 million defamation judgment against Giuliani for baselessly claiming that Freeman and Moss engaged in election fraud during the 2020 presidential election. Freeman and Moss argue that Giuliani has been evading accountability and using various tactics to delay proceedings. They have asked the court to order Giuliani to turn over personal property and have requested to be appointed as receivers to take possession of any real and personal property he does not turn over.

In addition to seeking control over the Palm Beach property, Freeman and Moss have also requested the seizure of Giuliani's cash accounts, jewelry, and ownership of a luxury Madison Avenue apartment. Giuliani had initially filed for bankruptcy, which paused the collection of the judgment, but the bankruptcy case was dismissed in July, allowing the legal battle to proceed.
