George Strait Sets U.S. Concert Attendance Record at Kyle Field
Country music legend George Strait set a new record for the largest single ticketed concert in U.S. history at Texas A&M University’s Kyle Field in College Station, Texas, on June 15. The concert attracted 110,905 fans, surpassing the previous record held by The Grateful Dead, who drew over 100,000 fans at Raceway Park in New Jersey in 1977. This event also established a new attendance record for Kyle Field, exceeding the 110,633 fans who attended a Texas A&M football game against Ole Miss in 2014.
The historic concert featured performances by special guests Parker McCollum and Catie Offerman. Prior to the show, Strait debuted two new songs from his forthcoming album "Cowboys and Dreamers," which will be his 31st album for MCA Nashville. The event also included a home giveaway to Purple Heart recipient Tiffany Baker. George Strait's career is distinguished by numerous records, including the most No. 1 singles of any artist in any genre and the most number-one albums, gold albums, and platinum albums in country music history.
