Dead Boy Detectives Trailer Unveils Eerie Sandman Universe Series on Netflix

Netflix is gearing up for the release of its new series, "Dead Boy Detectives," adapted from Neil Gaiman's popular comic book characters. The show, developed for television by Steve Yockey and co-showrunner Beth Schwartz, will premiere with a full eight-episode season on April 25. The story revolves around the ghostly adventures of two teenage best friends, Edwin Payne (George Rexstrew) and Charles Rowland (Jayden Revri), who form a detective agency to solve paranormal cases.

The trailer teases a connection to "The Sandman" universe, also based on Gaiman's work, suggesting potential crossovers with characters such as Death, played by Kirby Howell-Baptiste. The series boasts a supporting cast that includes Jenn Lyon, Briana Cuoco, Ruth Connell, Lukas Gage, and David Iacono. Executive producers for the series include Greg Berlanti, Jeremy Carver, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, alongside Yockey and Schwartz.

"Dead Boy Detectives" joins a growing roster of adaptations from Gaiman's graphic novels, following the footsteps of "The Sandman," which debuted on Netflix in 2022. The series aims to blend elements of mystery and horror as it follows the spectral sleuths and their associates, including a clairvoyant named Crystal (Kassius Nelson) and her friend Niko (Yuyu Kitamura), through their otherworldly investigations.
