Circle K Parent Company Acquires GetGo from Giant Eagle

Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. (ACT), the parent company of Circle K, has agreed to acquire GetGo Café + Markets from Giant Eagle Inc. GetGo operates approximately 270 convenience retail and fueling locations across Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland, and Indiana, employing around 3,500 individuals. The acquisition, set to close in 2025, will see Couche-Tard and Giant Eagle maintain and partner together on Giant Eagle’s myPerks loyalty program.

Giant Eagle plans to focus on its supermarket and pharmacy businesses following the sale. Couche-Tard has committed to retaining all GetGo employees. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed. This acquisition follows Couche-Tard's recent proposal to acquire all outstanding shares of Seven & i Holdings Co. Ltd., the parent firm of 7-Eleven Inc.
