Banijay Asia and SERA Team Up to Send Indian to Space on Blue Origin Rocket

Banijay Asia has partnered with the Space Exploration and Research Agency (SERA) to produce a reality show that will select an Indian citizen to participate in a future Blue Origin New Shepard mission. The show, tentatively titled "India's Next Astronaut," will feature shortlisted contestants undergoing various challenges designed to test their readiness for space travel. The winner, chosen by SERA, will become one of the first Indian citizens to travel into space.

This collaboration comes after SERA announced India as a partner nation in their human spaceflight program, which aims to democratize space travel by offering ordinary citizens from countries with limited or no astronaut representation the opportunity to experience space. The program will provide six seats on a reusable suborbital rocket for citizens worldwide. The initiative is part of SERA's broader mission to make space accessible to a diverse audience and foster global dialogue on space exploration.
