Apple iPhone 16 to Launch in September Despite Apple Intelligence Delays
Apple is anticipated to launch its iPhone 16 series in September 2023, maintaining its traditional release schedule. Despite the inclusion of Apple Intelligence features in iOS 18.1, these features will not be fully ready for the initial iOS 18 release. This means users will need to update their devices to iOS 18.1 in October to access the full suite of Apple Intelligence capabilities.
The iPhone 16 lineup will consist of four models: iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. The Pro models are expected to feature larger displays, with the Pro Max model offering a 6.9-inch screen. Additionally, these models will be powered by the new A18 Pro chip, enhancing performance and AI integration. Significant camera upgrades are also anticipated, including a 48-megapixel Ultra-Wide camera and a 5x telephoto lens. Despite these enhancements, pricing for the new models is expected to remain similar to their predecessors.
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports that Apple will not delay the release of the iPhone 16 series despite the incomplete rollout of Apple Intelligence features. The official unveiling is expected around September 10, with the phones available for purchase starting September 20. This release will continue Apple's trend of integrating advanced technology into its flagship devices while adhering to its established launch timeline.
