Antler Secures $72M for Second Southeast Asia Startup Fund

Global early-stage venture capital firm Antler has closed its second Southeast Asia fund, Antler SEA Fund II, raising $72 million to invest in tech-enabled startups across Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Malaysia. The fund plans to allocate $27 million to 45 early-stage startups over the next six to nine months. A portion of the funding will be directed towards startups formed during Antler Residency Programs, with $3 million specifically earmarked for Malaysian startups.

The fund is supported by a mix of global and regional limited partners, with over 50% coming from institutional investors such as a sovereign wealth fund, a pension fund, and a university endowment. The closure of the fund comes amid increased investor interest driven by rapid digitalization, a rising middle class, and robust economic growth in Southeast Asia. Antler also plans to continue supporting growth-stage startups with up to $10 million in scale-up capital through its emerging growth fund, Antler Elevate.
