Alaska Hunter Mauled by Bear and Accidentally Shot in Leg
A 32-year-old hunter in Alaska was seriously injured after being mauled by a brown bear and accidentally shot in the leg during efforts to fend off the animal. The incident occurred on the Kenai Peninsula, southwest of Anchorage, on Saturday. Both the hunter and his companion fired their guns to protect themselves, and the bear was killed during the confrontation.
The injured man was airlifted to a hospital in Anchorage for treatment. It remains unclear who fired the shot that struck the hunter. The bear's body had not yet been recovered due to the medical emergency and the remote location of the attack.
